For this assignment, we were instructed to take a series of photos that told a specific story using various angles and perspectives. The main goal of this assignment was to become familiar with using photos as a form of storytelling as well as getting comfortable with using your phone as a camera. While there were certain shots we were required to capture, there was a good amount of freedom with what we were able to shoot. I partnered with one of my classmates and we went to Starbucks to take photos of our journey to get a midday pick-me-up. Then after some mild touch ups in Photoshop my assignment was complete!
I chose to focus on places to take photos in Downtown Phoenix. These are all places that I personally have found some fun art and backdrops for photos and hope others will enjoy them as much as I have.
With this assignment I was able to play around with Adobe Audition for the first time. Prior to this podcast episode, most of my multimedia work has focused on videography and photography so I was excited to practice my audio editing skills. I chose to do buy podcast episode as traveling alone and on a college budget. I’ve recently starting to travel on my own and have run into a few bumps along the way so I figured that a podcast with information I wish I knew beforehand would be perfect. I interviewed my friend Mindi Brädt who recently just traveled with me.
For this JMC 305 assignment, we were instructed to create a video that explained something. I chose to focus on how I make my morning coffee. With the end of the school year around the corner, caffeine is an essential part of my daily routine. I filmed my video on a Canon M50 and then used programs I learned in my JMC 305 class to edit the video and put the final product together. I enjoyed filming this video, but I think next time I will utilize a tripod more to ensure I get steady shots. The background music in this video came from BenSound.com.
In my most recent JMC 305 class, we were given an assignment to create our infographics about any topic. I initially chose to do a comparison between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, but after struggling to keep the infographic clean and straight to the point, I opted to just focus on the current MCU phase. As a lover of Marvel, I always find it interesting to see which movies perform the best out of each phase, especially as comic books and superhero movies have grown in popularity in the past few years.
For this assignment I worked with a Canva generated template and curated it to fit my data.
For this assignment, I chose to do a feature on Dutch Bros and focus on the growing popularity of the brand in the past few years. This project was used as a way to practice filming and interviewing a specific place on a specific topic.
